My father always told me "Black families are matriarchal"
But my mother left
And my father raised me..
With humour and insight, Shayna weaves a story of the strength, the shame, the grit, and the grace of a lineage of women who mother unlike the rest.
We will be at BEZ Arts Hub in Langley June 7 and 8, with limited seating living room performances across the Lower Mainland the week before.
